Dear 10th Grade Parents and Students,
We are excited to share with you plans for our upcoming Chessed trip for the Sophomore class. We have spoken with students to help customize a trip that they will love and we are excited to have found a great destination in Orange County!
Our Rabbis teach us that the Torah stands on three legs: Torah, Avodah (prayer) and Gemilut Chassadim (Chessed and Kindness). At YULA Girls Chessed/community service is an important part of our mission and central to everything we do. To that end, we are so proud to be partnering with NCSY to bring an engaging Chessed trip to our girls.
The trip will take us to the Jewish communities of Orange County on May 19-20, 2019. Our goal is to facilitate experiential education and to work with the JCC, food banks, homeless shelters, and senior centers to give our students the opportunity to bring Simcha to those less fortunate. While this will certainly help others, we have found that giving, is the most direct route to receiving meaning and depth in one's own life.
The cost for this unforgettable experience is $240 per student and scholarships are available through NCSY. The deadline to register for the trip and scholarship is Friday, May 3rd. If you have any questions, please contact our Chessed Coordinator, Sarah Proops at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In order for us to move forward with arrangements, we must have a count of how many students will be joining us on this trip. Please register by May 3rd.
We can't wait!
